WANA (Mar 12) –  Iran is preparing a list of U.S. officials allegedly involved in terrorism, cyber sabotage, human rights violations against Iranians, and activities undermining national security, with the aim of imposing sanctions and taking legal action against them, according to a senior Iranian official.

Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy for Legal and International Affairs at Iran’s Foreign Ministry, announced the move in a post on the social media platform X.

“The U.S., with its long history of interfering in the internal affairs of countries worldwide, occasionally sanctions Iranian nationals under the so-called ‘Rewards for Justice’ program, offering financial incentives for information,” Gharibabadi wrote. “They seem to forget that whenever there is talk of terrorism, sabotage, interference, threats, and sanctions, the name of the U.S. always comes up.”

He further stated that Iran’s legal and international affairs department, in coordination with relevant authorities and the Supreme National Security Council, is leveraging domestic laws—such as the “Countering U.S. Human Rights Violations and Adventurous and Terrorist Actions in the Region Act” and the “Reciprocal Action Law Against the U.S. Designation of the IRGC as a Terrorist Organization”—to compile the list of American individuals for sanctions and legal proceedings.
